Review of Teeth Implantation
Treatment
Following an initial consultation and X-Ray I agreed to proceed with full implantation for all top and bottom teeth. During two subsequent visits for a CT scan and gum impressions the images were viewed and the process of implanting was explained in great detail and the condition of the bone structure discussed and possible location for the four implants in the top and bottom jaws. Selection of type and colour for the interim teeth was made at this stage.
The surgery to remove the old teeth and install the implants was carried out during two separate visits in a very professional manner with minimal discomfort. The interim teeth, fitted on the same day as the removals, were a good fit and felt like real teeth. Following a three month gum settling period a great deal of time was spent during four subsequent visits on trial fits and adjustments for the final teeth. Attention to detail during these was impressive.
After choosing a slightly lighter colour for the final teeth they were installed some seven months after the surgery and are even better than the interim teeth for fit, usability and appearance. I can now eat basically any food in a normal manner, which is something I had been unable to do for several years for fear of losing teeth. I can also smile without being embarrassed by my teeth.
Throughout the whole process, which entailed fourteen visits over eight months, the reason for each stage was explained fully and questions answered in detail. This aspect of the treatment was impressive and reassuring and any initial worries were soon forgotten.
The Team
Dental nurses Jo and Ashley were always extremely pleasant and made one feel at ease and comfortable at all times. Kelvin, the dental technician, was very good and proficient. Dentist Jag was excellent in all aspects of the treatment and with his “chair side manner” and good humour. A visit to the dentist became something almost to look forward to instead of dread.
Finances
A finance arrangement at 0% interest over 12 months was offered for the whole amount but I chose to use this for 70% and paid the remaining 30% with a credit card. The charges may initially seem excessive but an estimate of 120 man hours was spent by the four personnel so they are justified.
Recommendation
I would have no hesitation in recommending The Coventry & Warwickshire Centre for Advanced Dentistry to anyone needing partial or full replacement of teeth with implants.
I wish I had known about this application in more detail many years ago. I now have no teeth problems or worries about future teeth problems.
